Ok now I want that, I really want that, because the idea of girl!Casey is really cool! Especially if you consider how her life experiences and the way she’s treated would differ greatly from regular Casey (she would have to deal with misogynist assholes and other shit Casey doesn’t have to go through).

I also started thinking how girl!Casey’s relationship with Raph would differ but then I came to the conclusion that it would be pretty much the same.

It might with April though, unless they are both into girls (did I inspire someone to write a girl!Casey/April femmeslash fic? Good).

It’s funny because TMNT started out as a parody of Frank Miller’s Daredevil (which covers their origin, the Ninja in New York, Evil Ninja clan named after a body part, and an old wise master with a wood-related name stuff), the reason why they are Teenagers and mutants is because mutant teenagers were popular around that time (thanks to the X-Men’s New Mutants).

The reason why they are Turtles? During a brainstorming session one of the creators drew a turtle holding a nunchaku and the other thought it was funny so they went with it.

Supposedly it was going to be a one-time thing but it got popular with comic readers, then they made a cartoon which became even more popular, the rest is history.

But I have to agree it is a very creative and unique concept, one that many others tried to copy (Biker Mice from Mars, Extreme Dinosaurs, Street Sharks, etc…) but haven’t had as much success as them.

the same accident that created DareDevil created the turtles. the more you know. ;)
