Deadpool: first screenshots released
Activision and High Moon Studios have released their first screenshots of the upcoming Deadpool video game.
Ryan Reynolds, who played Wade “Deadpool” Wilson, everyone’s favorite mouthy mercenary, has expressed interest in creating a standalone Deadpool film that may be unrelated to the Deadpool that Reynolds played in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It seemed like everyone was shifting their Marvel movie attention from X-Men to The Avengers, but now, there is a new Wolverine film in the works, “The Wolverine,” that would take place between the events of Origins and the first X-Men film.
Reynolds mentioned wanting to do a Deadpool movie about a year ago, that would be rated R in order to hold to the accuracy of the character, and would be more similar to the comic book Wade Wilson than the character in Origins.
Stan Lee himself said: “Deadpool is such a popular character, I’d be surprised if he wasn’t in his own movie in the near future, or introduced in another movie first. They’re thinking about a Doctor Strange movie, a Black Panther movie, an Ant-Man movie—there’s just so many ideas in the works right now at Marvel!”
He’s right about Doctor Strange and Ant-Man, could this mean a Black Panther movie will bring T’Challa into the line-up for Avengers 2 or even 3? Maybe.
Here’s Ryan Reynolds on a Deadpool movie. This was from a while ago, but if The Wolverine is successful enough, Marvel might decide to keep going with some more X-Men-related films. Maybe they could even incorporate the X cinematic universe into the Avengers cinematic universe, that way they could bring in Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver!
